While two characters that appear in Volumes 3 and 4 are incredibly annoying, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba does remain exciting at times.
Into Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba?
On his way to anywhere, he passed by a girl same age as him(let’s say aroung 10 or so) picking tadpoles on a small rice field. That girl’s family died from oni. Yoriichi-san can’t let the girl alone they became a family the two of them and when they reach adulthood they start a real family, Yoriich-san almost had a child but ended dead after an oni attacked his wife and child. He wasn’t at their household at that time, he was searching for a midwife to help for his wife’s giving birth. He got late coming back after helping an old man on his way home and what he saw was the corpses of Uta and their child. He held their corpses for ten days. All this time he only wished to live peacefully with his family but it seems it’s his fate to end the oni who did this to him and to others. A fellow demon slayer came and expressed his condolence. Yoriichi-san then started teaching the demon slayers the sun breath techniques. It was then the different types of breathing were created and spread, it helps the demon slayers to cut through the neck of every demon. Also from those breath born from sun breath techniques, were pillars of each breaths they have.
Yoriichi-san soon found out his brother turned into a demon. His failed to kill Muzan, he let Tamayo-san go which is a demon, and his brother turned into a demon so they banished him from being a demon slayer.
All of this means that volume 3 opens with the conclusion to the fight at the end of volume 2 (where Tanjiro, Nezuko, and a demon doctor are beset at the doctor’s clinic), another fight starts in volume 3 (where Tanjiro discovers both a seriously haunted house and two other members of the Demon Slayer Corps who are the same age as him), and then volume 4 leaves off during a fight with a number of seriously creepy demons who look like spider-human hybrids. While none of these individual fights are overly long, I do keep hoping for a bit more downtime between them so that we can have some more moments of character development.
Then again, that might also be a problem since Tanjiro’s fellow Demon Slayer Corp members, the whiny Zenitsu and the literally boar-headed Inosuke, are both incredibly annoying and I’m alarmed at how they appear to be getting top billing in the advertisements for the upcoming anime (i.e, indicating that they will be a regular part of the main cast). Zenitsu is incredibly whiny and, while he has a few more balanced moments, goes so far as to be romantically jealous of Tanijiro carrying Nezuko around in her special case,
