With the announcement of the anime adaptation next year and the recent spinoff, everything was going great for Ao Ashi fans.
Ao Ashi’s spinoff manga, Ao Ashi: Brother Foot, by Kobayashi Yuugo will be on a break in the 34th Issue of Weekly Big Comic Spirits.
The fact that the main Ao Ashi manga is not on a break indicates that the mangaka seems to be doing well.
The protagonist is Ashito’s older brother, Shun. A story of renewal unfolds in Ehime. It is never too late to try again.
Shun is a very supportive person, shown by his encouragement for his younger brother, Ashito, in pursuing his dreams of playing in a J-League club and pushing him to take the first step. He is also a very responsible individual, putting others wants and needs over his, like when he chose to help out and take over the family store rather than continue to play football. Shun is also shown to be rather determined when he truly decides to do something and put his mind to it, pushing himself to his limit on the pitch even when he is in pain. At first it seems he lacks confidence and has anxiety regarding playing again, stemming from his childhood where he had to give up football due to his severe asthma, but despite this he pushes forward and doesn’t give up, willingly striving forward towards his goals.
